About Us
My Buurvrou was born from a place of serving each other and the community. The heart of the business stems from the couple, Anniza and Thys de Wet’s own story.
Anniza and Thys, the co-founders, first connected seven years ago when they were neighbours on a farm just outside of Paarl in the Western Cape. Anniza quickly became Thys’s favourite neighbour, always bringing around delicious food and treats. It wasn’t a secret that the way to Thys’s heart was through his tummy, and Anniza knew just how to captivate him.
Even after they got married five years later, the tradition of baking continued to be a cherished part of their household. What began as a way to share love and joy with friends and family through these sweet creations gradually transformed into a small business that organically grew and reached more people.
As 2023 drew to a close, Thys and Anniza felt the calling to take My Buurvrou to the next level, turning it into a more sustainable and expansive business. The couple share a passion for business and fostering a culture of generosity. Their ultimate vision is not only pursue profit but also purpose.
